“In Ulrich Lange, we are not only losing a recognized expert in numerous disciplines of the paper industry, from whose knowledge and experience we have benefited greatly,” says PKV shareholder Kristian Evers, ”but also a valued colleague who has always dedicated himself to our company with the utmost commitment. I, and I speak for the entire group of shareholders, am very grateful to him for his tireless efforts. I am also grateful to his family, who have supported him during his long days of service to the company.”

Ulrich Lange joined PKV as a paper engineer in April 1991. Trained at the University of Dresden, he and several other “Dresden paper engineers” were a stroke of luck for PKV and the West German paper industry, which was thus able to alleviate the shortage of paper engineers in the wake of reunification. He subsequently held various positions, such as laboratory manager with development and expansion of production and product control as well as production manager.

Major projects such as the construction of paper machine 5 in 2004 and the rebuild of paper machine 4 from 2011 as well as the continuous expansion of the process water treatment plant with all its challenges in a waste paper processing company are also closely linked to his work. From 2013 to 2023, he was responsible for the company’s fortunes as Technical Managing Director. Most recently, Ulrich Lange worked intensively on the technical planning for PKV’s future climate-neutral production and thus helped set the course for the coming decades.
